MISSION

The mission of the East Cork Biodiversity Networking Programme (ECBNP) is to create a forum and collaborative space in which to share best practice, provide education and engage in focussed knowledge transfer.

We welcome new relationships with a view to fostering enhanced biodiversity and environmental sustainability in the East Cork Area.

We embrace a community led and inclusive approach.  In doing so our aim is to connect individuals, groups, businesses, educational and government bodies.  In this way we believe we can meet our common goals.

THE BEGINNINGS

The East Cork Biodiversity Networking Programme was set up in 2017 with the help of LA21 funding through Cork County Council.  The Network was successfully grant aided again with LA21 in 2018.  To date in 2019, further funding has been awarded through the Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG South - administered by Bord Iascaigh Mhara) for an ambitious biodiversity management and creation project.  This project is also being supported by the East Cork Municipal District of Cork County Council, Irish Distillers and Carey Tools.
